Your Contribution Helps Fund Rides for the Community
Your contribution will help to fund a much-needed transportation service for your fellow community members. Donations help us say ‘yes’ when someone calls and needs a ride. One way your donation gets used is to meet the 20% match for our Mobility For All pilot service (currently fare free.) Your donation helps keep this an affordable, sustainable purchase.
Stories from the Road… The Type of Rides CRVT Provides
To better understand how donors make a difference, the following are examples of the riders Community Rides of Vermont has been able to help.
- Older adults get to medical appointments and food shopping.
- Assisting unhoused individuals move from or change hotels.
- Families to get to Head Start, and to high school so they can attain their diploma.
- A single mom of two young boys with getting to a job interview, and for 3 months we were able to provide her with rides to work five days a week.
- Assisting Central VT Refugee Action Network to help one of their clients with ongoing rides to work.
- We have had a handful of ride requests come up in Orange County, which is quite a public transit desert –including a ride to an important courthouse date in Chelsea, VT.
- Assisting a Capstone client in transitional housing get to/from Randolph to a group home there.
