Donations Help Subsidize Rides
Community Rides Vermont is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with the mission to offer flexible, affordable, and dependable transportation for rural Vermonters. Donors like you make it happen!
Help Fill the Gopher-It Gap!
We are now at 50K towards our Goal of $79,000 to fully fund the Gopher-It Rideshare Program through 2026.
The annual cost to operate the Gopher-It Rideshare discounted rides program is approximately $79,000. This is based on our projection of around 2,630 rides that will be needed, at an average cost of $33 per ride. Thanks to generous donors who have already contributed to the program and a small grant we’ve received, we are well on our way to reaching that goal.
That said, we need your help to raise the rest! To meet the budget and attain our overall goal by August 31, 2026. Community Rides Vermont needs to raise $28,500 in the next 3 months to provide these much-needed rides to Central Vermonters who qualify for the program.
Your contribution enables Gopher to say “Yes” to helping folks access their jobs, medical appointments, food shopping, and other important needs. Any amount helps. Please share this opportunity with your friends!
Your Contribution Helps Fund Rides for the Community
Your contribution helps to fund a much-needed transportation service for our fellow community members. Donations help us say ‘yes’ when someone calls and needs a ride.
Our free ride service, Mobility For All, ended June 30, 2025. With that change, our goal is to continue to serve our community with affordable transportation options.
On July 1, 2025 we launched Gopher-It Rideshare – a discounted market rate service. Donations help to support this new program and enable us to discount rides for qualified individuals.
Note, we work to combine rides as much as possible in order to further discount the price by sharing costs with other passengers.
Stories from the Road… Gopher's Impact
To better understand how donors make a difference, the following are examples of the people Community Rides Vermont has been able to help thanks to ongoing community support:
- Older adults accessing medical appointments and food shopping
- Families getting to Head Start and to high school so they can attain their diploma
- Assisting people with signing up into existing transportation programs
- Offering same-day rides for people who may not have been able to get around otherwise
- A single mom of 2 young boys with getting to a job interview, and for 3 months we were able to provide rides to work to her five days a week
- Assisting with transportation for last-minute hotel and transitional housing moves
Thank you for helping us make this happen!
